Christmas Project                      

In late 2007, KC CAN! completed a Christmas project that brightened the holiday season for children living at Gillis, a childrens’ home in Kansas City, Missouri.  Using donations and funds from KC CAN!, volunteers purchased Christmas gifts for 29 children living at Gillis.  Every child received individual gifts and some larger group gifts were also delivered to the children.  Additionally, board members provided Christmas decorations that were put up at Gillis to evoke the holiday season.  Gillis was very appreciative of KC CAN!’s efforts, and this project made the holidays a happy time (as it should be) for those grateful children.

KC CAN! has conducted several projects on Gillis' campus to provide a large-scale playground, volleyball court and basketball courts.  This equipment provides children living at Gillis safe and fun places to engage in physical activity literally in their "backyard".  Learn more about this and our other Playground Projects here.
