Gillis is a program that provides campus-based living and community services to children and families. Founded in 1870, Gillis truly is an institution in the not-for-profit community providing children's services. To learn more about Gillis, visit www.gillis.org.

Gillis Walking Path

KC CAN! recently completed the construction of a walking path at Gillis. This walking path is used to take residents on a simulated journey from say Kansas City to New York City. This enables the children to get exercise and to learn important math and geography lessons along the journey. They also experience a sense of achievement when they reach their planned destination.

Campus Playground Project

KC CAN! has conducted several projects on Gillis' campus to provide a large-scale playground, volleyball court and basketball courts. This equipment provides children living at Gillis safe and fun places to engage in physical activity literally in their "backyard".
